Today is shaping up to be quite nice across the region. We are seeing sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70’s. But the end of the week gets a little more wild.
Thursday
Some rain moves across the area early in the morning, but once that clears out we may see some breaks in the clouds. We will warm into the mid 70’s once again, but the amount of sunshine we see tomorrow may mean the difference between mid 70’s and closer to 80 degrees. The warmer we get, the more instability we will have across the area. Regardless, the strongest storms will remain to our north and east. Some folks may see some gusty winds and small hail with the storms that move across the region tomorrow during the early to mid evening hours. The SPC keeps the slight risk for severe weather just to our north and east.
Friday
There is a possibility for more storms come Friday. These storms will be a bit stronger than Thursday’s storms, but gusty winds and small hail will be the main threats. You can never rule out an isolated tornado with severe storms, but the tornado threat looks low. Many folks across the region won’t see a severe warned storm, but the possibility is there. The SPC puts Bowling Green in a slight risk for severe storms Friday.
Heavy rain will be possible over the next 5 days with localized flooding possible, especially to our north. The Weather Prediction Center shows up to 5 inches of rain could fall along the Ohio River through the weekend.
