After a soggy weekend to put it lightly, we should dry out nicely over the Mid-South with a great week shaping up. Here is a link to the storm rain total map put out by the NWS in Louisville. South central Kentucky saw the most rain over the three day period (May 1-3), with localized areas – including Bowling Green – receiving over 10 inches of rain! Although the rain has moved out, we are obviously still dealing with flood issues across the area in places near streams and rivers, so continue to play it safe if you’re driving around.
Now for the forecast. Today should be a beautiful day, but a tad muggy with the amount of moisture around the area. We’ll top out at 80 with light winds and only fair-weather cumulus to block out the Sun. After a clear night with a low in the mid-50s, tomorrow will be a repeat of this afternoon. Given the zonal pattern that’s shaping up for our area in the models, our next even small chance at rain or storms looks to be next weekend. So get out there and enjoy some sunny weather for a change.
