On this day, in 1993, the state of South Dakota had winds averaging around 50 miles per hour ahead of a cold front of great strength. In Pierre, gusts reached as high as 62 miles per hour.
This event was significant for what’s to come this week, but not to that magnitude of severity. Tomorrow, our county will be under a threat of gusty winds that could reach up to 30 miles per hour. These will be likely in the late morning into the late afternoon, so please be cautious when on the roads both to and from work.
