Mason’s Monday Outlook 4/18

Good morning, folks, and happy Monday!

Today’s Forecast

After some overnight rain last night, today will be drier with peaks of sun in the afternoon. You can expect temperatures to top out in the mid 50s. For tonight, skies clear and temperatures drop into the mid-to-low 30s. This presents a potential for patchy frost for your Tuesday morning. Cover all sensitive vegetation, and bundle up heading out the door tomorrow!

What to Watch For

As the week progresses, temperatures will climb into the 60s, 70s, and even some 80s by this Friday. Before that, there is a chance for rain and thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday. No risk for severe storms at this time, but certainly keep an eye out for travel impacts and timing.

Weather Fact!

The state of Kentucky is having an above-average year for tornadoes. According to the NWS SPC, Kentucky averages about 10 tornadoes January-April. So far in 2022, Kentucky has seen over 20 preliminary or confirmed tornadoes. This is a devastating amount, considering this does not even take into account the December 10th 2021 outbreak. Definitely a trend we are hoping to not continue.

Have a great week everyone 🙂
