Happy Friday to everyone, I hope we’re all enjoying the slightly cooler weather we’ve been having this week. We will see very similar conditions from the past two days, winds still blowing from the Northeast will keep us from the extreme heat we experienced a few weeks ago. Highs for today will reach up to 77, and with little cloud cover tonight we expect temps to drop to 53. The wind direction will stay nearly the same across today and into the weekend due to a strengthening low-pressure system of the coast of Virginia. The low pressure is in a zone where we often see low pressure strengthen; because of the landscape we typically see lows dig deeper before a nor’easter. Typical behavior for of nor’easters is to strengthen after passing over the Appalachian Mountains and into the Atlantic where it will crawl up the Northeast coast to deliver precipitation. Of course, because of the time of year there will be no chance of snow, but these conditions are something to look out for come the winter season.
As for the weekend, we will continue to be cooled off with Northeast winds, and due to the deep low off the coast, it will slow down any other weather patterns upstream from us. Highs on Saturday will be 76, with a low of 52. The high on Sunday will be 76 and the low will be 49. This weekend is great opportunity to enjoy the nice weather, and if you like the summer weather then now would be a good chance to enjoy it before it turns to fall weather soon.
