Forecast for Monday 10/05

Good morning everyone, I hope WKU students are having a good Fall break. Today we will see full sunshine with temperatures reaching the upper 70s. Combined with low humidity, this will make for a rather pleasant day with light northerly winds around 5-10 mph dominated by high pressure. Overnight lows will generally be in the middle 50s throughout most of the week.

As we progress throughout the week, a dominant ridge will slowly begin to shift towards the east, and that will continue to increase our temperatures. However, with the dry airmass in place, overnight temperatures will continue to cool off to the 50s rather efficiently. By late week, winds will finally begin to shift from the gulf bringing in more moisture into the region.

Rain chances will remain zero until we head into the latter half of next weekend where we could be looking at the remnants of a tropical disturbance depending on how much it develops and where it tracks, which is currently located over the Gulf. However, stay tuned for updates as we progress throughout the week.
