Forecast for 10/30

Happy Friday and happy Halloween! Today is going to be a calm day due to dry air being advected into our area from the northeast. Clear to partly cloudy skies today since there is still a high-pressure center over the area. High today will be 80 as little to no cloud cover will heat the surface faster, and the low will be 56 as some clouds are forecasted for tonight. Other storms are excepted west of us near Missouri and Arkansas likely because of the upper air divergence pattern caused by the jet stream. Missouri and Arkansas sit within the right entrance region of the jet streak, allowing the upper air to aid in vertical motion. As well as a shortwave near the south of Texas that’s kicking off some thunderstorms.

On Halloween, we will be in a higher zone for upper divergence as the current jet will propagate eastward. Although the chance for rain will be in the later hours of the day and we won’t see the high potential for thunderstorms and will likely see light to moderate rain. Temps will slightly decrease as the high for Saturday will reach 78 and the low will be 56. Showers will continue throughout Sunday, and those showers will cool us down, as the high will only be 63 and the low will be 53.

Happy Halloween, eat lots of candy, and stay safe this weekend.
