Forecast for Friday 10/2

Good morning and happy Friday, today here in Bowling Green temperatures will reach up to 80 and fall down to 59 overnight. The stationary front has us in anticipation for the rain we will receive today, with the start of the rainfall happening early or mid-afternoon. We are currently sandwiched in between two high pressure systems, where the one to our Northwest wants to move further downstream but the Bermuda high is slowing down that process. Thus, we have a slow-moving track of storms that will stay over our area for a long time; rain is likely to persist for most of the day and will stop at 9pm central. With the Bermuda high supplying the area with moisture and the other high over the pains is bringing cold temperatures and instability in the atmosphere. There is little threat however for severe thunderstorms and we will likely have showers with scattered thunderstorms. Total QPF has amounts of rainfall to be over five inches in central Tennessee, but that is stretched over a multiple day period.

As for the weekend, on Saturday those showers will finally be past our region, skies should clear up giving us a high of 74 and low of 59. Sunday will likely have less clouds in the sky which will get the high up to 76, and low down to 51.

Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your day.
