Good morning everyone and happy Monday! I hope you were able to take advantage of the time change and remembered to turn your clocks back an hour! This morning is off to a rather dreary start with scattered light rain showers being reported across south central Kentucky. These will continue to affect the area until about noon before moving out of the region and dissapating. For today, expect lingering clouds, though a few peaks of sunshine cannot be ruled out this afternoon. High temperatures will likely max out around 70F with low temperatures with lows around the 60 degree mark. Winds will generally be out of the south around 5-10 mph.
By the middle of this week is when the weather starts to turn slighlty more interesting, as we have strenghtening winds out of the south ahead of a cold front that will move through on Wednesday that could spark some showers and thunderstorms. These will likely be non severe with the better ingredients off to our west in Missouri on Tuesday, as the system will likely begin to occlude and weaken as it approaches our area from the west. Nonetheless, a soaking rain can still be expected. This cold front will not drop our temperatures all that much unfortunately.
There are signals that by next weekend we could finally start to see a blast of cooler air afect the region, but at this time it is still too far out. We will continue to keep you updated.
