Discussion:

Today was absolutely gorgeous! There is a chance for some scattered showers in the overnight hours as a cold front moves through. This will push our temperatures down over the next few days. We will be seeing the coldest air yet of the season. There is a chance that the overnight lows will be in the low to mid 30’s over the weekend. The high pressure that will move in behind the front will enhance the ability for the temperatures to drop since the skies will stay clear. This will definitely give us a chance for frost, so be sure to keep an eye on your outdoor plants and any other sensitive items outside.

The next few days will be nice and sunny with the high temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s. It’s forecasted to be clear through the weekend, but we will keep you up to date if anything changes.

A Look Ahead:

Tonight: Isolated showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Patchy frost after 3am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 37. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Areas of frost before 7am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 59. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Saturday Night: Patchy frost after 2am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 32. Light north wind.

Sunday: Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 59.

Discussion:

The cold front that moved through yesterday evening and last night brought us not only thunderstorms and rain, but also cooler temperatures. We’re about 2.5 degrees cooler tonight than we were 24 hours ago, we can absolutely see the difference that the front has made across the region.

As far as the weather for the rest of the week goes, it will be quiet and beautiful. A high pressure system is moving in behind the front and should be totally over the region for the rest of the week. This will keep us with temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s during the day, but much cooler temperatures in the overnight hours. These conditions make this week a great one to go and enjoy outdoor fall activities such as pumpkin patches and corn mazes! We’ll keep you up to date as the week goes on.

Looking Ahead:

Overnight the clouds hung around with a few scattered showers. Through the rest of the day showers will increase. The weekend will feature continued rain chances.

Today: October 2: High: 63

Today will feature mainly scattered showers but they will increase later this afternoon and into the evening. Temperatures will stay in the low 60s maybe in the upper 50s.

Tonight: Low: 50

As we head into the overnight tonight the showers will continue but they will still be scattered. Temperatures will reach the low 50s maybe the upper 40s.

Tomorrow: High: 61 Low: 52

Scattered showers will continue as we begin the first day of the weekend. Temperatures will cool off slightly.

Looking Ahead:

Sunday: High: 73, Low: 57. Scattered rain showers will still continue as we end the weekend. Temperatures will warm up a bit.

Monday: High: 77, Low: 55. Sunshine with some clouds will be around on the first day of the new week. Temperatures will warm up slightly more

Tuesday: High: 75, Low: 53. Sunshine will be back making for mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will cool just a degree or two.

Wednesday: High: 79, Low: 56. Sunshine will continue once again making for mostly sunny skies. Temperatures may just reach the 80 degree mark.

Thursday: High: 80, Low: 55. Sunshine once again just like Wednesday with similar temperatures.

Overnight the rain continued and this morning there has been a few light showers. Through the rest of the day the rain will be isolated. For the rest of the week we will keep the rain around.

Today September 30: High: 68

Today will feature scattered light showers. Temperatures may get into the low 70s but they will probably stay in the upper 60s due to the cold front moving through today.

Tonight: Low: 56

The light rain showers will start to move on and otherwise we will remain mostly cloudy.

Tomorrow: High: 67 Low: 53

Most of the day will be cloudy then isolated showers will return. Temperatures will remain cool as the front stalls to our east.

Looking Ahead:

Friday: High: 64, Low: 50. Showers will continue to hang around. Temperatures will cool off a little bit more.

Saturday: High: 63, Low: 49. Showers will still hang around the area. Temperatures will be near the same temperature as Friday.

Sunday: High: 66, Low: 52. Showers will once again stick around. Temperatures will warm slightly.

Monday: High: 69, Low: 54. Sunshine will start to make a return but a few clouds may be around.

Tuesday: High: 73, Low: 56. Sunshine returns making for mostly sunny skies and temperatures will warm up a bit more.

We have seen some light spotty showers as we woke up this morning. There may be more as we head through the afternoon. For the first half of the week we will see increased chances of rain and maybe a storm or two.

Today September 28: High: 81

This afternoon may hold a slight chance for a spotty shower. Temperatures will rise slightly above 80. A cold front will start moving in our direction this afternoon.

Tonight: Low: 68

Scattered showers will increase tonight as the cold front moves closer. Otherwise clouds will increase and we will remain mostly cloudy overnight.

Tomorrow: High: 76 Low: 63

Rain and possibly a thunderstorm or two for our Tuesday. Temperatures will cool down as the cold front moves through. Rain will continue through the night.

Looking Ahead:

Wednesday: High of 71, Low of 57. There maybe a few more showers as we head through the morning. Clouds will hang around making for mostly cloudy skies for the afternoon.

Thursday: High of 74, Low of 55. Temperatures will warm up slightly. Sunshine will return but there still may be some clouds hanging around.

Friday: High: 72, Low of 53. Temperatures will continue to stay in the 70s. Clouds will continue to hang around making for partly cloudy skies.

Saturday: High: 70, Low of 51. Temperatures may just reach 70 as our cool down continues. Partly cloudy skies will continue.

Sunday: High: 71, Low of 52. Temperatures will continue to stay fall like and pleasant. Slight rain chance otherwise partly cloudy skies continue.

The last full week of September comes to an end with some spotty showers and cooler temperatures into the weekend. These moderately warm temperatures will continue as we fully enter into fall this coming week. This weekend poses the strongest chance for rain over the region but amounts will be small.

Today September 25th: High 87

Our chances of rain today will increase as the day progresses and will continue into the night. Temperatures will decrease as a low pressure system near the Atlantic Coast edges towards the region which is responsible for the precipitation.

Tonight: Low 58

Rain will continue throughout the evening and will gradually end over night. Skies will remain cloudy throughout the overnight and into the early morning for Saturday.

Tomorrow: High 75 Low 60

Your Saturday will remain mostly cloudy with a chance of a stray shower throughout the day. Into the evening and overnight skies will partially clear with no chance of rain.

Looking Ahead:

Sunday: High of 79, Low of 61. There will be a chance of showers before the afternoon, and then skies will remain mostly cloudy for the remainder of the day, then partially cloudy for the night.

Monday: High of 85, Low of 65. Slightly warmer than the weekend with partly cloudy skies. Expect mostly cloudy skies for the evening which will allow temperatures to remain mild.

Tuesday: High of 83, Low of 60. Mix of sun and clouds for the day and night; very pleasant.

Wednesday: High of 82, Low of 58. Pleasant weather once again with partly cloudy skies clearing into the overnight allowing the temperatures to drop into the high 50’s.

Thursday: High of 80, Low of 50. Skies will be clear throughout the day with increasing cloudiness into the night.

In a nutshell:

Besides the chance of rain early in the weekend, the first full week of fall presents us with some amazing weather for outdoor activities such as hiking and looking at the fall foliage! Enjoy the weekend!

As today officially begins the fall season, the region will continue to experience late summer weather. As the week comes to an end, temperatures will continue to be pleasant and as we enter the last weekend of September a small chance of rain will show.

Today September 23rd, 2015: High 84

Pleasantly warm weather will dominate the region today with humidity a little higher than earlier this week; but definitely not the air you can wear. Skies will tend to be clear throughout the day but some clouds will be present.

Tonight: Low 57

Skies will clear throughout the evening and into the night allowing the temperatures to drop just below 60 degrees.

Tomorrow: High 88 Low 60

Get out and enjoy the sunshine while you can! Clear skies throughout the day with some cloud cover at night. An extremely pleasant day for your Thursday.

Looking Ahead:

Friday: High of 79, Low of 60. Cloudy skies will give way to periods of rain showers throughout the afternoon and evening.

Saturday: High of 80, Low of 59. Chance of rain early in the day, then staying cloudy for the remainder.

Sunday: High of 80, Low of 60. Bits of clouds and sunny skies throughout the day.

Monday: High 84, Low 60. Mostly sunny skies.

Today September 21st, 2015: High 80

Today will be a great day for outdoor activities as we remain in the high pressure system that has been over the region since the weekend. Temperatures in the low 80’s with clear skies. Not too hot, not too sticky, and mostly sunny for the day.

Tonight: Low 50

Skies will remain clear throughout the evening and night which will allow temperatures to drop into the low 50’s.

Tomorrow September 22nd, 2015 High: 82

High pressure will continue to dominate the region keeping temperatures mild and skies clear; yet another great day to be outside. Dew point temperatures will be low keeping the air relatively dry and pleasant.

Tomorrow Night: Low 55

Skies will be clear yet again with temperature in the mid 50’s.

Looking Ahead:

Wednesday: High of 87, Low of 57, beginning to warm up, but not a scorcher. Clear skies throughout the entire day.

Thursday: High of 87, Low of 60, continuing to be milder throughout the day and night but keeping clear skies.

Friday: High of 86, Low of 58, skies becoming partly cloudy: still an excellent day to be outside.

Saturday: High of 85, Low of 56, skies clear.

Sunday: High of 83, Low of 56, clear skies once again.

In a nut shell:

This is a fantastic week to be outside and enjoying the weather, as well as great weather if you want to sit outside and star gaze. Get outside and enjoy it!

This Evening: Low- 65

We have warmed nicely into the upper 80’s today under clear to partly cloudy skies. More in the way of partly cloudy conditions look to move in as the night moves on, as a weak cold front gets closer to the area.

Tomorrow: High-85 Low-59

A weak cold front looks to push through the area from the northwest late tomorrow morning into early tomorrow afternoon. Due to limited moisture ahead of the front, only isolated to scattered showers and storms look likely with its passage in the area. No strong to severe weather is anticipated with this activity.

Sunday: High-76 Low-53

Surface high pressure looks to move into the region behind Saturday’s weak cold front for our Sunday. This looks to result in very comfortable temperatures and dewpoints accompanied with sunny skies. Our Sunday will definitely be the pick day of the weekend!

Weekly Outlook:

This Evening: Low-56

Afternoon temperatures today in the low to mid 80’s, coupled with mainly sunny skies, have made conditions beautiful to be outside once again!

Tomorrow: High-85 Low-60

As an area of surface high pressure stays centered to our east over the Mid Atlantic region and keeps us in a southerly flow, we should expect our Thursday to basically be a carbon copy of today temperature and sky cover wise. So, tomorrow will be yet another seasonable and mainly sunny day!

Friday: High-87 Low-65

Our Friday looks to offer up temperatures a little above normal for once as that high pressure system stays out to our east, and is allowed to pump in more warmth and moisture. Clouds look to be on the increase late Friday afternoon through Friday night, as our next cold front approaches from the northwest. This front will push through our area  during the day on Saturday, only accompanied with very small precipitation chances. More about the Saturday forecast will be discussed below in the Weekly Outlook section.

Weekly Outlook:
